Job Overview

Location: Melbourne (Eastern Suburbs + beyond)

Position Type: Casual (During school hours and possibly weekends, flexible scheduling)

Description: We’re on the hunt for a fun, reliable, and wildly engaging science educator who can command a classroom, a party, or a room full of homeschool kids with equal flair.

We run school incursions, epic birthday parties, and hands-on science fun that gets kids actually excited about STEM. Hours are flexible and vary weekly depending on bookings—think weekdays across Melbourne’s east and the occasional weekend for parties. You’ll also have a regular gig co-running a homeschool science class in Cockatoo on Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30am.

This gig is perfect for someone who:

  • Has a knack for explaining cool stuff in fun ways
  • Can work independently, show up on time, and follow through without needing to be chased
  • Loves kids, chaos, and blowing a few minds (metaphorically)
  • Has a car, a current WWCC, and isn’t afraid to wear a lab coat or party hat

Bonus points if you’ve worked in education, childcare, theatre, or a similar role before—but attitude and energy matter most.
All lesson plans and equipment are provided—your job is to show up, bring the energy, and make science unforgettable.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-energy science workshops, parties, and classes using our pre-prepared lesson plans and equipment

  2. Engage children from preschool to upper primary with entertaining, educational content

  3. Set up and pack down materials at various venues

  4. Represent the brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a sense of fun

  5. Communicate clearly and reliably with the Director
